Step into the woods.

A private, romantic, stream-side cabin and wood-fired sauna on 5.3 secluded acres - squirreled away in a gorge on the banks of the Blackwater River. Where the sun and rain power your stay.

A gorge hideaway most Irish folks don't know exist.

Tucked into a wooded gorge, just outside Ballyduff Upper village, LaLaLand Getaway sits on 5.3 privately-owned acres besides a flowing stream that feeds into the legendary Blackwater River.

The land is deliberately unmanaged - deer trails run through it, wildlife corridors are intact, and you're more likely to spot a deer than another guest. Because you're the only ones there.

One cabin. One couple at a time.

About us

LaLaLand Getaway was created with a clear purpose: to give people a true escape. Our nature-centred retreat offers a rare combination of 5-star services and genuine tranquillity — where the busyness of modern life simply cannot follow you. The cabin was built to the standards of a home, not that of a short-term rental property. We take pride in every detail, because we believe that an exceptional hospitality experience isn't just about comfort. It's about how you feel when you leave.

Powered by the stream running past your door.

A constant-flow hydro turbine in the stream and a solar farm on-site produce all the energy the property uses - and then some. Your stay has a zero carbon footprint, not as a marketing claim, but because the electricity comes from the stream outside your window.

Nature powers your stay. Your stay helps fund nature's protection.

"In the morning I was lucky to see a woodpecker outside and lots of other birds. Maria was kind enough to keep the sauna and fireplace going when we were out."

Drielly - Dublin

"The cabin is lovely and very comfortable, the surroundings are beautiful and serene. We felt very welcome. Would absolutely stay there again, and again, and again."

Bobbie - Platteville, Colorado

"The sound of the water running down the stream while sitting in the sauna is so soothing. Amazing hideaway in the trees, that is still close to towns and markets."

Hugh - Halifax, Nova Scotia

Remote enough to exhale. Close enough to explore.

Ballyduff Upper sits on the Waterford-Cork border, in the valley of The Blackwater -- one of Ireland's greatest rivers, renowned for salmon fishing, and lined with castles and ruined abbeys.

From the cabin, most of West Waterford and East Cork are within an easy drive. You don't have to go anywhere. But when you do, you won't be disappointed.
